Nash has never been a good sleeper. His sleep is never consistent. He wakes up early. He was doing real well and very predictable (going to bed at 9 and waking up at 6). This was after I did the crying it out method. The last time I did it, after one night of it he started sleeping through the night. The first time it took a couple of nights. Well, we are having to do it again.
Nash did real well on vacation and sleep through the night but how he went to sleep was since we were sharing a room and he had his blow up mattress on the floor we would have him in bed with us when he was tired and he kind of rolled around and laid his head down and finally went to sleep. At that point we just put him on the mattress.
When we came back from vacation, I would rock him to sleep and put him in his crib. He would sometimes wake up as I put him in the crib but generally would go back to sleep but he started waking up in the middle of the night. I would rock him and he would be sound a sleep but as soon as I got up to put him in the bed he started screaming. So we resorting to him sleeping with us after he woke up in the middle of the night.
I was kind of hoping that one night he would just not wake up in the middle of the night any more when he was in the crib. That has not happened. The final straw that made me realize we have to do something about this now was when I woke up this morning with Nash in the bed and my husband on the couch. Nash is a crazy sleeper and ends up all over the place. So when Chris went to bed last night, Nash and Sadie were all in his spot so he just decided to sleep on the couch.
Chris really doesn't and hasn't complained but he knows we can't keep doing this. Now that he is home more he sees how upset Nash gets at night and he feels sorry for him. He said the other night that "Nash sounds awful" and one night brought him to our bed when he was crying.
So we have decided that we can't keep doing this and that we (more I than we) are going to try the crying it out thing again. So, I have my fingers crossed. It worked wonderfully the last time and that is what I keep telling myself. It's not that I let him cry forever. I let him cry a while go in and pat and soothe him leave and repeat later until he falls asleep and each time the time intervals increase. In reality it is probably harder on me then him.
So my fingers are crossed and I am getting geared up for a long night and trying to talk myself into not giving in and hoping it is not going to be that bad. We'll see.

I will be how old????
Technically, I will be 28 tomorrow. That’s sounds completely crazy to me. When I do the math, it adds up. I think about the fact that I graduated high school, graduated college in 3 and ½ years, got married, went to graduate school, been married for 5 years, in graduate school for 2 years and out for 3 years, and have a 13 month old so I can see that technically I am 28. It is so unreal how reality does not feel real. Age isn’t a big deal to be. Okay it kind of is. 25 I was okay with but 28 feels awfully close to 30 and 30 does not feel so good.
We had a birthday deal at my dad’s house the other night for me and my brother (he is three years older and his birthday is 3 days after mine). My sister-in-law made the comment that I was 14 when her and my brother started dating. Whoa! That hit me weird. So that was half of my life ago. It does feel like a long time ago but not that long. It also does not help that I look basically the same as a I did when I was 14. (don’t know if that is good or bad. It can be both I guess)
Anyways birthdays (my birthdays) are not really that big of a deal to me. Growing up my brother and I had a lot of our birthday parties together and back then I did not like it because it never felt like my birthday. Now, I don’t mind and actually kind of like it because I don’t have to be the center of attention. I always feel uncomfortable when the attention is focused on me. Saying that I have a lot celebrations around my birthday. A friend of mine has her birthday a couple of days before mine and we usually do something together (this time it was breakfast at IHOP with the kiddos). Then, since my parents are divorced we usually go to my mom’s and dad’s for mine and my brother’s birthdays. Then Chris’s parents take us out to eat for my birthday as well. That brings the grand total to 4 birthday celebrations. So the celebration has started and will end this year at my mom’s house this weekend. Then I won’t have to think about the fact that I really am 28 again because when it is not right around my birthday or when I have to fill in my age on a form I tend to forget about how old I am and actually have to think about it a minute when someone asks.

four wheeler riding
Chris has been Mr. Mom (and has done a great job and has throughly enjoyed it) the last couple of days because Nash's Mimi gave us a scare earlier this week and has to be home resting (Dr's orders). I came home from work today and Chris grabbed Nash and said "let's show mommy your new trick". Had no idea what that could be. He does new stuff all the time. Well, here it is.

Nash got this four wheeler for his birthday from his Mimi and Poppy and used to be very scared of the noise it makes when you push down the petal. Just another way he is getting braver. He rode it around the whole house and daddy just had to stir him and he pushed down the petal. He just rode it like a big boy like he had never been scared of it before. We had to take him off of it or he would have just continued to push the petal down. Now his Mimi and Poppy will feel beter that he now loves his birthday present and is not terrified of it any more. I knew he would love it at some point. Just take a little time getting used to it.
(please excuse the crazy hair and messy house)

Is he walking yet?........Nope
I get that question a lot and no he's not. He's 13 months old and is not walking yet. Some times I think he is getting ready to and other times I think it's going to be a while. He does not really show any interest in it most of the time. The only time he likes it is when I am holding his hand and he will walk for a little while and smile but then sit down. It's like he feels like a big boy for a minute but then sits down because he knows he can go faster that way. He still prefers to crawl to whatever that is around him that he can stand up and hold on to and then he walks that way. He also has a push toy that he walks behind. I've tried where I have him stand up and just see if he will take a step to me. He has kind of done that but still much prefers to sit down. He is a super fast crawler and I think right now does not see the need to walk. He also is a little clumsy when he does walk. So who knows.
So there you go. I am glad that the doctor said he wasn't really expected to walk until 15 months old or I would be worried. It just weird to me that babies walk anywhere from 10 months to 15 months. That is a big time span. I guess if we get to 15 months and he is still not walking then I will worry about it then.
He is getting a lot braver in other areas. He has been able go down the stairs one stair at a time and he used to be scared to. Also, he tries to climbs in the bathtub by himself. Tonight, I was getting him undressed and ready for the bath tub. I turned around to do something and I looked back and saw him with his leg hiked up on the side of the bath tub trying to climb over.

blah blah blah
Exclaimer: the title of this post is both how I am feeling and what the post consist of, read at your own risk of getting the blahs!
The past week has been hard getting adjusted to being back home. I hated going back to work but I got back in the swing of things. I did end up buying a Betta fish that I named "Rocky" to make my office not so depressing for me. Plus I always wanted a fish for my office. Nash's sleep has been messed up. From one day to the next it is not the same. What is weird is on vacation he was kind of in a routine. He also has had a lot of dirty diapers (5 yesterday). I talking gross dirty diapers not that they all dirty diapers aren't gross but you know what I mean. I think he may be teething (which I have realized I blame on everything Nash does that I don't understand). He's been kind of cranky. Part of me thinks it is from teething and part of me thinks he's been clingy because he was with me all week on vacation. Probably a little of both. He is super sweet at times as well. He started kissing me all the time. On vacation he would just pull my head to him over and over and kiss me. What can I say, he loves his mommy. It seems so unnatural going back to work and leaving him 4 days a week again. I really hate it. I think I would get bored if I stayed home with him full time for a long period of time but I would like to have more time than I do have with him. What can you do though, right? Believe me I have looked into it and still would jump at the opportunity if it presented itself. Right now my 40 hour 4 day a week is the best thing I have been able to come up with.
Another thing he started doing on vacation which I hate is hitting himself on his head when he gets mad or frustrated. I tell him "no no" or "that is ugly" but he does not stop. I wondered where he got that from and he may have just started it on his own but then today as we were watching an ELMO video that he saw a hundred times on the Florida trip there is a part in it where these kids are trying to sing a song and dance at the same time and they mess up and say "don't" and hit themselves on the head. So I started wondering if he got it from there? Who knows?
This weekend has kind of been a laid back weekend. One I am super tired because Nash has been getting up early, even earlier than I have to get up on my work week. I did lay out some Friday and Nash played in his pool and water table. I am trying to maintain some kind of tan from Florida. Nash has a little tan himself. Probably not noticeable to everyone but I can tell. He has a little tan line around his shorts. I did get some things done around the house mainly the cleaning and a little organizing that I need to do but there's much more I could and need to get done. I'm sad to start another work week.
(Why couldn't I have been a teacher and had the summers off???)

WHEW!....Sadie gave us a scare.
Sadie stayed at my mom's house while we were gone on vacation and he came home this morning. They told me that the last two nights he has had diarrhea, which is not like him. He usually only has that when he is nervous or goes somewhere new and then it gets out of his system. We went to a birthday party today and when we came back there it was on the floor. We were concerned even more concerned when we saw blood in it. So, I called the after hours vet line who said he needed to be brought in to get checked out. Concerned now led to scared. Sadie is 12 and I know that he does not have a lot of time left so when something out of the ordinary happens it frightens me beyond. I was thinking the worst like he has cancer and we are not going to be able to do surgery and we were going to have to put him down. Yep,that is what I was thinking. Dramatic, I know. Chris was scared too and has been a good dad to Sadie. He took him to the emergency hospital while I packed up Nash and dropped him off at Aunt Pam and Kayla's and then I speed over to the animal clinic in tears. This was a scarey and sad expereince in and off itself. When we were there, there was a family who had a terrible accident with their puppy and were having to have it put to sleep. The whole family including kids were balling. I felt terrible for them and did not want us to have to hear the same news. The only thing that made me feel better is that Sadie was not acting sick like the other dogs there. The doctor examined him and said that he did not see anything that alarmed him but could run more test. We just had these test done a month ago and he was fine so we decided to treat the symptoms. The doctor thought he probably had a parasite and gave Sadie a shot of antibotics and some other medications. We are hoping that this clears it up and that is all it is. We love our puppy and are thankful that we didn't get worse news.
