Green Thumb??? We'll see.

I don't have a good track record with plants. I have killed many plants that should have been easy to maintain from other people's standards. However, we were at Home Depot picking out Chris's new lawnmower and I saw these all inclusive kits for tomatoes and strawberries so I thought I would give it a shot. Ideally, I would love to have a small garden some day. We really don't have much room for a garden in our backyard so to make this plan even harder to achieve this would probably mean buying the lot next door which Chris and I dream of doing for a pool, more land, etc but hey you have to start somewhere right?
So, I am optimistic about the tomato (the tin) because I followed those instructions without a hitch but not so much with the strawberries. When I go to open the packet with the seeds, which was a very small packet with itty bitty seeds. I poor the seeds in my hand and they were so tiny that I put too many in one of the slots and not enough to go around to all of them. I think they are already doomed.

Park Play Date with Nate

Nash and Nate saying "Taaa-Daaaaaa!!!"
"shoot it!, shoot it!"- says Nash

Nash loved the swing this time. I was kind of surprised.

BBF's-best buds forever
Today really was a good day. It started by Nash sleeping in to 8:40 which is unheard of by the way. We met Nate and Kat at the park where they had a great time playing as you can see and we had lunch at our favorite place, Chik-fil-a. I was able to clean house and have a nap with Nash. Then I went to get my hair cut and a pedicure. That was wonderful and relaxing. Chris came and picked up Nash at the salon and took him to a ALS baseball game where they had some great daddy and son time. (Nash has been wanting his dada ever since). Afterwards we ate at Larry's Pizza. Nash loved it. The lady would come around saying "cheese" for the pizza and Nash would holler "CHEESE" right back. All and all a great day.
Everything was all good until a hour or so ago where Nash wanted juice so I went to the kitchen to get it. He was sitting on the love seat with me and Chris was on the other couch. I heard a crash from the kitchen that sounded like a bad fall and I came running back in the room. He somehow fell while getting off the couch and busted his bottom lip on the coffee table. His mouth was bleeding pretty bad and I was trying to figure out where it came from. He cut his lip and is going to have a fat lip (kinda already does). He got over it pretty quickly and went to bed. Oh well, what can you do. At least most of the day was great.

22 Months

Nash is 22 months old today. He is amazing and is growing up so fast. Some of his favorite things at the moment are Mickey Mouse, cars and trucks (he differentiates between little trucks, big trucks, and big big trucks), repeating what he hears, singing and dancing, suckers, tractors, fruit snacks, airplanes (which he calls pairplanes), the alphabet (he knows his letters, upper and lower case), wagon rides, playing outside, soccer balls, all things basketball, he likes to tell you what color things are i.e. red ball, counting, going "fast", coloring, and saying "ready, set, GOOOOO". His vocabulary has grown by leaps and bounds in the last couple of months. I am amazed at the words he knows and says.

He is a lot of fun and generally in a good mood and gets excited over everything. For example, when we got home from Chicago Nash met us at the airport. After the initial hug and welcome home from him we were waiting on our bags and he super duper excited over the bags falling out of the shoot onto the conveyor belt. He had people there laughing because when a bag fell he would say "WOW!!! blue bag, WOW!!! red bag" etc. It was quite funny and super cute. However, he has had his melt downs and temper tantrums lately as well. Most of the time it is due to having to come in from outside when he is not ready or when he is really tired. I see the terrible two's in my future real soon. Speaking of the terrible two's, his birthday is coming up all too soon. I have already booked a local play place and hoping all his friends can come play with him for his birthday. It's only 2 months away.

Our Chicago Trip

We stayed 2 nights at the Millennium Knickerbocker. It was pretty cool. The most modern hotel I have ever stayed at even though it was built in the 1920's. Chris picked it out and did a good job. It was neat place.

Chris and I flew out Sunday night to go to Chicago mainly to watch the White Sox play opening day (Monday) at US Cellular Field. We had a great time. The weather was wonderful. When we first got there it was even a bit hot with the sun shinning down on us and then got cloudy and nice.

Chris and I at the game. He doesn't really like to take picture hence the silly face. We got there early to watch batting practice and to just look around. There was a foul ball hit to just a couple of rows in front of us. That was pretty cool.

Ball Game. White Sox win 6 to 0. We witnessed what ESPN is already calling the play of the season where Buerhle (the pitcher) went across the foul line to get a ball and then no look pitched it backwards between his legs to 1st base and got the out.

That night we walked the magnificent mile which is a mile of high end shops and just looked around. It was pretty cool.

An awesome Church building in the magnificent mile.

We had a great time. I really like Chicago. It is definitely a big city and had that feel to it. I felt like such a "tourist" when we were figuring out the train system but we got it down pretty quick. I really liked it. You could go just about anywhere in the city on it. We also walked a bunch and there was a lot in walking distance. There was a Starbucks almost on every corner. You didn't see many overweight people there and I know why now. We walked a bunch but it was nice. I was thankful I brought my tennis shoes and not just my flip flops like I had thought about doing. I also liked that even though it is a big city everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would love in a few years to go back, stay longer, check out more sites, and take Nash to his first Sox game.

Some Easter Pics

After church this Easter we had my mom, step-dad, inlaw's, and Chris's Nana over. We all ate while Nash napped and then we had fun with my little man watching him get into his Easter baskets and hunt eggs.
