When I got home from work, Nash climbed up the stairs and went to see his daddy. His daddy surprising said "a year ago today you were in a tanning bed". So, I thought of this picture of a year ago today. I remember this like it was yesterday. I being the mother hen I am wanted him in the room with us in his tanning bed but finally let him go in the nursery and tan! Look at those big hands. I think he has finally grown into them!

the birthday boy's big day
Happy 1st Birthday Nash!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At 3:19 am this morning, Nash Rivers Horton turned one year old!!! Boy, the time flies! It has been a WONDERFUL year. Definitely my best year ever! He is such a sweet, happy, lovable, smart, handsome little boy and I could not ask for more. There will be plenty more pictures and updates to follow as we are celebrating his birthday today and having his birthday party this weekend. Right now I am not able to verbalize how I am feeling without tears shedding all over my laptop. I may do that later if I am able to get through it.
So on a much lighter note here are his 12 month pictures and updates. He has been walking holding on to things especially his little toy that he pushes and walks behind but is not quite brave enough to let go and venture out on his own. As soon as he realizes he standing by himself he sits down. We have started putting whole milk in his formula and he seems to be okay with it. In fact one day he drank just whole milk better than I expected. His car seat has been offically turned face forward (thank goodness). I think he will enjoy it much better. He has been able to climb up the stairs all the way to the second floor by himself (of course with me right behind him) and he loves doing it.
(I love you, Nash! I hope you have a wonderful first birthday and I am so thankful to have gotten to be your mother and enjoy this last year with you. You are my sunshine!)

SWEET FANCY MOSES
My baby boy's first birthday is here (3:19 am June 10th)! I have been almost in shock or disbelief. Today I had such a busy day at work I barely had time to think about it but I took tomorrow off to celebrate with him and as soon as I got off I got excited about it. I mean full of excitement and ready to embrace it. Even at the end of my late night, I started telling a secretary at work Nash's birth story. You know the one your mom tells you every year on your birthday "This time so many years ago I was.....". Something about that feels good to relive it. Nash's birth experience was not the most pleasant and there are a lot of things I wish were different about it but it is what it is and it is my story and my experience so I don't look back on it with bad feelings. I look back on it as the day my son was brought into the world so that day and experience is very special to me and it is mine and I am sure when he is able to understand it on his future birthdays I will be telling him his birth story.
Lately I have realized how much of a mother hen I am when it comes to Nash. He is mine. I am super protective and if anyone crosses the line I will peck their eye out. (okay not really but you know what I am saying). I am filled with such emotion that is hard to put into words. What a wonderful, crazy, hard, rewarding, amazing experience it is to be a Nash's mom and I would not change it for anything.
Stay tunned................More birthday posts to come.

Pool Play Date with Nate (that rhymes)
Nate came over for a play date in the pool. Nate decided he much prefer being outside of the pool splashing in the pool. Nash enjoyed the pool and playing with his toys. It's funny how right now they think everything is theirs. We had a good time and have had a few play dates with Mr. Nate. They are getting to be good buddies. (BFF's)

Happy Birthday Sadie!
Today, Sadie is 12 years old. I can't believe it. I got him for my 16th birthday when he was just a little puppy. He has been a good dog. He still has a lot of spunk but is obviously getting older. He can hardly hear now which has gone down hill the last couple of years. He has been pretty healthy so far and I am thankful for that. He was my child before Nash. He has been really good with Nash so far even though I am sure Nash gets on his nerves some. Nash likes to put his head on Sadie (in a sweet way), pet him, and try to kiss him. Lately he has discoverd his collar. Sadie lets him until he gets tired of it and then goes about his way. Anyways, Happy Birthday Sadie! We love you!

crazy hair/ crazy day
Wonder where he gets it????
Don't know what I am going do with it. I can brush it down or to the side and it looks okay but tends to still have some curl to it. I wanted him to have long hair but we will see how crazy it gets. His dad's hair gets pretty crazy the longer it gets.
Nash's face is reflective of how today has gone. I called in because my stomach and head have been hurting. Mainly today...head hurts like crazy and just does not get better. No engergy. Body aches. fun stuff. I hate being sick. So much I want to do but can't make myself to much of anything.
Nash has been in a pretty good mood but has times of big time fussiness. I don't think he is feeling well either. Last night he did not sleep well. It has been a good month since he has slept through the night and we have been resorting to putting him in bed with us because I can usually pat him or comfort him when he does wake up and he will go back to sleep until last night. I'm sure he's probably teething and not feeling well. It has been a series of things that have caused him problems of sleeping at night. Just want it to be better but don't see light at the end of the tunnel right now. I have even been looking up stuff online but there are so many different things that can be causing it but I just have to deal with it no matter what the cause is.
Other eventful things... I got a new phone. The LG Vu. So far I am liking it. It is a touch screen like the Iphone. You can get online and check email easily. So, I am satisfied. I was debating between it and the Blackberry Curve. Still kind of am but I think I am going to stick with one I have. The Blackberry is a nicer phone and the battery last longer but mine does all I need it to do and is nice.
Chris is out of school. Which ususally makes me real frustrated to get up and go to work with him being at home sleeping in but he has been helping around the house and doing things so when I get home I don't have to do much which is nice.
I think that is all for now. Head is hurting and computer screen is making it worse.
