Things Nash and Sadie both enjoy

Bath Time: Sadie likes to lick the bath water off of the bath tub or the person taking a bath and Nash likes to splash water and loves that Sadie is there playing with him.
Dog Food: Ever since Nash could get around good in his walker he likes to go in the laundry room and clang the dog food bowls together. Now that he can crawl to them, he likes to get into Sadie's dog food. Sadie doesn't mind. He just keeps eating as Nash is moving the bowl around and taking the dog food out.

The Dish Washer: Nash likes to move the trays back and forth and get into the dishes and Sadie likes to lick any dirty dish or water that is left.
These two are having a lot more in common now that Nash is moble and into everything. (By the way, you realize how dirty your floor is when you have a little one crawling on it with light color clothes and white socks and the dog is the main reason it gets dirty. I just can't win!)

FINALLY!

Nash's tooth has FINALLY broke through. Looking back through my postings, it was a couple of months ago when I first saw the white spot and the teething was confirmed. Tonight, I was messing with him, making him laugh, and then snuck and felt of his gums and his bottom left little tooth is coming through. I really wasn't expecting it because I felt earlier today and did not feel anything. I tried to make him "let me see" but he was not having it. It is just barely through but I still want to see. It's exciting though and I'm sure his other ones will follow soon.

Nash's new face

The past few nights Nash has been making this weird face. He opens his mouth, his lips pucker up, he squints his eyes or blinks them over and over, but NO sound comes out of his mouth and he just keeps his face that way or makes the face over and over. I tried to take some pictures of this tonight so you all can see. So, here are the ones I got. The first one probably gives you the best idea of what we see. The others are a little close up. We finally realized tonight that he is doing it because he's tired. As shortly after he makes this face, he starts wiping his little eyes. I guess it is like a yawn that just gets stuck.

car seats

I am debating on what car seat to get Nash. It is Arkansas law that a child has to be one year and 20lbs to face forward. Nash is now 20 lbs and his current car seat goes up to 22 lbs. So, I am thinking about buying a new convertible car seat that can face forward and backward just in case he outgrows his other one. That is another issue I have, how will I know if he does not get weighed again unitl he is a year? but I would imagine he would not gain much more than two pounds in three months, right. I guess I could always take him in to be weighed. ANYWAYS. I have done some research and found the "top" recommended car seats BUT I want to wait as long as I can to switch out car seats because his is so convenient to take in and out. With a new car seat, it will be harder to get positioned each time. The car seat base combo is really easy and convienent. The convertible seats are big and bulky and have to be fit into the car and latched in making it more difficult to take in and out. The convertible car seats that are recommended vary greatly in price. The most expensive one is over $300 and the cheapest one (in every sense of the word) is $50. So, I am trying to make a decision on which one to get. I have had some people recommend certian car seats and that is helpful because then I can research that particular one. I have heard good things about the Sunshine Kids Radian 80. It has a lot of safety features (mainly a steel frame where others have plastic) and has the highest weight limit (up to 80 lbs so you basically would never need another car seat). It is the one that I am leaning towards. The most popular and most expensive one right now is the Britax Marathon Model. You can often find them in local stores where the Sunshine Radian you have to order online but it has free shiping and is not as expensive. I feel there is a lot of pressure about car seats because of course you want you child to be as safe as possible and they kind of get you on that point. All car seats pass the federal guidelines but some have extra safety features or bells and whistles that are nice like easy adustable straps or straps that don't twist or extra comfort. Like everything else regarding Nash I am way overthinking it. The main thing I am battling with is the Britax model versus the Sunshine Radian. I have heard good things about both but leaning towards the Radian due to the safety features, better price, and long use. If any of you have any suggestions or advice of course I would love to hear it.

New Laptop

I broke down and got a new laptop. Thanks for your comments. It really did help my decision. I got a Toshiba. For those of you that like all the specifics. It has a X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor RM-70, 3GB SDRAM, 250 HDD, 15.4 inch widescreen TrueBrite Display, 802.11 b/g wireless, DVD SuperMulti with Labelfash. I only know that because the sticker is still on it. I barely know what that stuff means. Basically, it is not the bottom of the line but not the top either and good enough for what I need it for. It was between this one and the HP and we went with this one because it had a good graphics card. In my opinion, it was very reasonably priced (would not of gotten it if it weren't). I also have made some progess on orgainizing things. I met with my aunt who walked me through the program to store my pictures. I got all my pictures on my external hard drive and hooked up to my compter. I have installed the software on this laptop. I just have to get my pictures on here and organized. I am excited about it and will be much more excited once it is completely organized.

9 month check up

This morning Nash had his 9 month check up. He weighed in at 20lbs and 3oz and grew 3 inches since his 6 month check up. Now he is 28 1/2 inches. Everything was good which I expected it to be. He has met all his milestones some a little early. She said that pointing is a 12 month skill obviously dealing with communication and he has been doing that for a couple of weeks now. His mom is a social worker so of course he is going to be able to communicate! He has been a little fussy these past few days, feeling warm, and has woke up in the middle of the night so I thought he was teething again. She confirmed this when she looked in his mouth with the light and saw teeth right at the gums. She said his top left looked like it was about to break through. His gums are filled with white spots. I got a chance to get a good look at his top gum later because I have been focusing on the bottom one and they look very swollen and he has to be in some pain over them. I really like his doctor. She is so personable, kind, and good with Nash. She is a mom herself and oozes it. Which, I love. At the nine month check up, there is a foot prick to test their blood for lead and anemia. So, we are waiting in the hallway before going into the lab and Nash has only a diaper on. He is clapping, pointing, bouncing, and talking getting the attention of everyone who is anywhere near us. Then it is the dreaded prick. I did not think it would be that bad since it is only a prick but I could not be more wrong. He cried like he did when he got his shots. Then they have to squeeze his little foot and get all the blood into the container. He cried like his feelings were hurt and I think that is what it was because when I was able to turn him around and hold him close he was fine. The test came back good. I am so thankful for a healthy, happy, sweet little boy!
