Nash and his friend Landon praying with the guys after we beat Mountain Pine which secured us a place in regionals.
As most of you know, this is a busy time of year for us. ALS Owls won 2nd place in districts Friday night losing to England by 2. This week we start regionals. If we win the first game, Thursday night against Clarendon we will automatically go to State. This has been a hard but exciting year for Chris and the team. So I am proud already of how well they have done but think it will be awesome if we could make it to State. GO OWLS!!!!

Valentine's Day
We had a good Valentine's Day. This was the first year that Nash had a Valentine's Day party with him being in "school". He gave his teachers mugs, with kisses, stuffed animals and cards and he gave his classmates cards with suckers attached. We also baked some heart-shaped cookies for their Valentine's Day party. He had a lot of fun.

The valentines he got from his classmates
We got Nash a Valentine's Dog Pillow Pet. He has been wanting a Pillow Pet until Christmas and I thought this one was cute.
Chris and I had a good Valentine's Day as well. He sent me red and purple tulips to work as a surprise and gave me a sweet card. We went out to eat and were reminded of the other reason besides his usual basketball tournment that we don't normally go out on Valentine's Day. The wait was horrible and it was crowded. We actually kind of shared a table with another cupple with his divider thing in the middle. It was odd but something we were able to make a few jokes out of. We had a good time though and enjoyed our time together and the food was great.

Our New Addition
Introducing......Rufus Horton 12 weeks old.
What possessed me to get a puppy you ask? I don't know. Other than Chris and I just started talking about it one day and it got carried away. My thought was our dog Sadie will be 14 in June. Cocker's Spaniel's typical life span is between 9 and 15 years. Sadie is in good health (that we know of ) but he can hardly see or hear anymore. He mainly just lays around and eats. When Nash goes outside he wants Sadie to go out and chase him and well that doesn't really much happen. So, the idea of Rufus came about. We wanted another Cocker Spaniel and perferrably a black and white one or we thought about getting a chocolate one. Long story short, I found an add for black and white ones and got super excited because they are hard to find and here is Rufus!
Nash loves him. I think he wanted him to be littler since he is a bigger than some of the puppies he recently has seen. We refered to him as our "little Sadie" before we got him and he is the runt of the litter which was all the more appealing to us.
Sadie and Rufus play good together. Rufus loved Sadie immediately (more than any of us). They played real well together. Sadie had to set some limits finally with him but he responded good to that. (He's so cute. One one side he is pretty much white and the other side he has big black spots that almost look like hearts)
Nash loves that he has a dog that wants to chase now. I had forgotten how much energy puppies have. Rufus has played non-stop until just recently. He prances when he walks and is constantly under my feet checking stuff out.
We love our Rufus and think he is going to fit in great with our family.

Snow Days
As most of you know, we had a bunch a snow Wednseday. This time we got to sled down the massive hill by our house. It was a ton of fun. This hill is pretty much epic in Sherwood. People come from different neighborhoods to go down it. Here are a couple pics of us going down it.
Nash went down it a couple of times but that was before the camera was out. Then he decided he wasn't crazy about it. He loved it going down and was excited but afterwards decided he didn't want to go again.
I like this picture because it shows how much snow we got.
Nash liked to go out exploring.
Sadie enjoyed it as well.
My little penguin
So, we got a five day weekend out of the deal. That makes me happy.

1st sleep over
The first sleep over was fun. We had a fun day with the ponies and the birtdhay party. Nash and Gracie played good together. Nash shared his things. They had a good time. They took a big fun bubble bath in my big bath tub for almost an hour. Then got ready for bed. At first,Nash was gonna let Gracie have his bed and he sleep on the floor but then they decided they both wanted in the bed together but ended up both on pallets in the floor. It took a little while to get them both asleep but they did.
AND THEN..Nash comes to our bed around 1 am. Proceeds to vomit all over our bed and us at 1:30am. Then he and I ended up on the couch where I taught him for the first time to throw up in the bucket and he did good at it and of course it was less messy. Gracie was picked up in the morning but was woken up once during the night by Nash crying from feeling bad. However, she did good. I told her Nash was sick and not feeling good and she needed to go lay back down and she did. They watched cartoons and had cereal in the morning. Nash's without milk. Nash has been running fever and coughing all day. :(
A memorable first sleep over both good and bad.

pony rides
Today, we went to my friend's little girl Hannah's 3rd birthday party in which they had a couple bring out a couple of ponies for the kids to ride. Hannah loves ponies and throughly enjoyed her birthday party.
I didn't know how Nash would do. I thought he would just want to see them not ride them. However, to my surprise he feed them and rode them. We had my neice Gracie with us and she is quite the dare devil but she would not ride the horse even after much begging and coaxing. She did feed it though. They had carrot chuncks that they fed them by hand.
my little cowboy
(the boys had sherrif hats and the girls had pink cowgirl hats. Nash loved his and said he had a cowboy hat like Woody from Toy Story.)
Nash and Gracie
After the fun day we had, Gracie is staying the night so it should be interesting how Nash's first sleep over goes.

TOT-Teams of Tomorrow
Nash had his TOT performance at UALR during the half time of the women's game. They come to his school once a week and teach a class. They learn different ball handling skills along with educational things and tonight theyshowed all they have learned to this point. At the end of the school year, they have another performance to show all they have learned. Nash was on team purple and I was our school's parent volunteer. Nash's school joined all the other participating schools.
Getting situated before the performanceshowing how to pass the ball around the body. (Nash was looking the wrong way. He was facing the big screen rather than the teachers.)
They dribbled with the left and right hand, put the ball around their body standing up and sitting down, and the grand finale dribbling while turning around which for Nash was more like bouncing the ball and turning around real quick to get the ball again.
afterwards we got bubble gum as treats (Nash swallowed his)
All and all a fun night. Nash had lots of family there watching and he was so glad they all came to see him.
